Captain Marvel poster arrives before new trailer and rumored Avengers 4 update
A looming Infinity War sequel trailer may drop sometime later this week
Another Captain Marvel trailer is set to drop tonight, during ESPN’s Monday Night Football. (Update: the new Captain Marvel trailer is now live.)
There was buzz that a trailer from the Marvel Cinematic Universe was set to premiere in late November, but most assumed we’d be getting the first glimpse of Avengers 4 ahead of that — still sans subtitle. But before we learn what happened after Thanos’ snap, it looks like we’re going to learn more about the eleventh-hour hero who’s allegedly going to save the world post-Infinity War.
Marvel released a new poster for Captain Marvel with the trailer announcement:
Rumors continue to swirl that the Avengers 4 trailer may hit sometime this week (with signs pointing to a Wednesday drop). Considering Captain Marvel’s ties to the end of Infinity War, there could be some connection between the two trailers.
The first teaser for Captain Marvel followed Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) as she crash-landed into a Blockbuster’s and tried to reconcile her extraterrestrial super-powered life with her mundane past on Earth that she’s forgotten. She also punched an old lady, but don’t worry — that was probably a Skrull.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019 — a few months ahead of Avengers 4, which premieres May 3.
Catch the Captain Marvel trailer during halftime of the Washington Redskins-Philadelphia Eagles game, which starts at 8:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
