Fair & Lovely actress Yami Gautam butt of Twitter jokes

After Alok Nath and Neil Nitin Mukesh, it is the ' fair and lovely' actress Yami Gautam who has become the butt of jokes on Twitter. The Vicky Donor star is trending on the micro blogging site since Sunday because of her affinity for fairness products.

Tweeples are posting wacky messages wondering why a new age girl like Yami is promoting fairness products. Ironically, Yami does not have a Twitter account.

Accusing her of promoting racism by endorsing a brand which makes young girls crave for fair complexion, some of the tweeters even suggested her to replace the name of the popular skin whitening cream with her name.

The advertisements, one of which shows how a girl with dark complexion gains back her confidence after using the fairness product are being broadcast for quite long but this is the first time the commercials have come under fire.

Last year, actress Nandita Das had started an online campaign called ' Stay Unfair, Stay Beautiful', which had received wide appreciation and support from girls all across the nation.

Chandigarh girl Yami was last seen in Total Siyappa opposite Pakistani singer Ali Zafar, which failed to get any response at the box office. She will also be seen in action thriller called Action Jackson.
