The Aston Martin DB10 super Car of the new James Bond film “Spectre”

On November 6, 2015, James Bond will return to theaters in Spectre, director Sam Mendes’ follow-up to the colossal 2012 hit Skyfall. Daniel Craig, once again, stars as the venerated secret agent. Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz will play a character known only as “Oberhauser,” though it’s rumored he’ll actually be portraying the famous Bond supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
Also joining the cast: the brand new Aston Martin DB10. Bond has driven several models made by the British luxury sports car manufacturer over the years, but this one is slightly different. The bespoke DB10 was designed specifically for Spectre, with input from Sam Mendes.
It’ll be the 10th time 007 has driven an Aston Martin—he sported the classic DB5 in Skyfall, the same car Sean Connery’s Bond drove in Goldfinger. Aston Martin is only making 10 DB10s, and none will be available for purchase by the public. It’s unclear what will happen to these cars once the movie wraps up.
The DB10 is part of the wider trend of luxury brands going bespoke as people get richer globally, most notably in China and India. A number of global luxury brands, including many car manufacturers (Ferrari, Maserati, even Harley-Davidson), are parading around specially made items as the super-rich around the world clamor for unique products.
Rounding out the rest of Spectre‘s new human cast are pro wrestler and Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista, Sherlock‘s Andrew Scott, Monica Bellucci, and Léa Seydoux. They’ll join Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and Ben Whishaw from Skyfall.
The film will shoot in London, Rome, Mexico City, Morocco, and Austria. The title surely refers to SPECTRE, the supranational terrorist organization from the Bond universe.
