Model Joy Corrigan sues Apple over naked iCloud nude photos hacking

Model Joy Corrigan is reportedly suing Apple after naked pictures of her were allegedly leaked via iCloud.

She claims her nude images were publicly circulated months before the recent photo hacking scandal that involved over 100 celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Rihanna, Cara Delevingne and Kirsten Dunst. The incident was allegedly enabled through an iCloud leak.
Apple has denied that the hacking was a company security breach, although says it will introduce new, stricter security measures to keep its customers' data safe in the cloud.

Corrigan told TMZ that she allegedly informed Apple of the hacking in July, but claims that the organisation said she was victim of phishing and needed to change her password.
She says she followed instructions, only for more images to be circulated days later. She claims that Apple responded in the same way. A spokesperson for the model or Apple could not be reached.

After the much publicised large-scale hacking incident earlier this month, the brand contacted Corrigan and denied any wrong-doing.

The model now plans to sue and is encouraging other victims to do the same.
Victoria Justice and Kate Upton are also reportedly taking legal action but it is not known whether or not Apple is involved.“This is a flagrant violation of privacy,” said a spokesperson for Lawrence earlier this month. “The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”
The anonymous hacker also admitted that they were unhappy with how much money he or she has made from circulating the stolen photographs via 4Chan.

The FBI is investigating the incident. (Independent)
