Telegraph: Apple has finally fixed the annoying iPhone autocorrect 'i' bug after a raft of complaints with the release of another iOS update.
iPhone users have expressed their frustrations over the bug which automatically changes the letter 'i' to an incomprehensible symbol, inundating Apple’s support team with complaints.
The problem is affecting iPhone and iPad users who downloaded the new iOS 11.1, which coincided with the launch of the flagship iPhone X smartphone.
Apple initially gave customers who complained a temporary workaround, but has now released a permanent fix with an iOS 11.1.1 update.
“We just released an update created to address this issue,” Apple said, telling users to backup their iPhones before installing the update.
The update also fixes an issue where Hey Siri stopped working for some iPhone users. It is available for the iPhone 5s and later, iPad Air and later, and iPod touch 6th generation.
To install the update, go to: Settings > General > Software Update.
Meanwhile, Apple has also promised to release another update for the iPhone X after complaints about the flagship handset’s screen becoming temporarily unresponsive in cold weather.
“We are aware of instances where the iPhone X screen will become temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid change to a cold environment,” an Apple spokesperson told The Loop.
“After several seconds the screen will become fully responsive again. This will be addressed in an upcoming software update.”
