Things You Didn’t Know About Momina Mustehsan From Coke Studio 9 Song Afreen Afreen
The Coke Studio famed 23 years old beauty, Momina Mustehsan is a Pakistani singer who is based in New York. She started singing when she was in her elementary school back in New York. She said “at the start of the school she was supposed to select an instrument which would be the part of her curriculum so she decided to choose violin. Momina Mustehsan had to participate in a talent show at school where her teacher suggested her to sing something as she thought that Mustehsan is good at singing. That was the first time this talented girl realized her passion for music.
After completing her degree in engineering, Mustehsan is excited about her venture with Coke Studio Season 9 as a part of Noori and Fakhir’s team. Though currently she lives in New York but she visits Pakistan on and off to discover her potential as a vocalist.
Momina has done her A levels from Lahore Grammar School and her graduation in Biomedical Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University New York. She was born on 5 September 1992. Her mother is a doctor by profession and Father is a retired Army Officer. She is a sister to two handsome brother one is a doctor by profession and other is studying Law. Mustehsam plans to pursue her studies and complete her Masters in 2016.
Momina Mustehsan got her fame from the track she recorded on the request of her dear friend Saad Sultan “Pee Jaun” initially sung by Farhan Saeed. She recorded, composed and wrote her part of the song in her university dormitory in New York and sends it back to Saad in Lahore where he took Farhan Saeed on board and made him record his part of the song then mixed it and put on air.
After her debut in 2011, Momina Mustehsan recorded a track written by Ali Azmat himself for Junnons’s twentieth birthday anniversary album Volume 1 . The tracked named “Sajna” was a bonus track on the album sung by Momina.
In 2014, Momina Mustehsan was approached by a Pakistani band Soch for their song Awari. According to Mustehsam she sang and recorded the song without even knowing that this song will be later used in an Indian project. She just recorded the song in her university dormitory without even meeting anyone in person. Later she signed the contract once the track has been lined up for release.
In future the super talented young diva has some Pakistani projects in her hands which will be released at the end of this year hopefully. Momina Mustehsan expressed her passion for music and so many platforms and said she is excited about her upcoming project in Pakistan. (Funvilla)
