One billion fans waiting for India vs Pakistan World Cup match

Sydney- The Cricket World Cup will break new boundaries with India's clash against Pakistan expected to be watched by more than one billion viewers.

World Cup organizers expect it to be the most-watched match in the history of the game, eclipsing the same fixture at the last World Cup.

The 2011 semifinal between India and Pakistan at Mohali drew a TV audience estimated at 988m. The February 15 match in Adelaide has been sold out for six months.

There is a bitter rivalry between the two neighbors. Their World Cup rivalry is decidedly one-sided with India, having won all five games since they first met at the 1992 tournament that was also co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.

The news comes as Pakistan suggested they are open to playing their "home" series with India, in India.

Pakistan have been forced to play their home matches in the United Arab Emirates, because of terrorism concerns at home following the 2009 attack on the Sri Lankan team.

Pakistan cricket chairman said, they would consider playing in India if there were the right financial rewards. Meanwhile, India will arrive at this year's World Cup as defending champions, but as outsiders with betting agencies to repeat that. Australia are favorites with betting agencies on either side of the Tasman.

The New Zealand TAB has Australia priced at $3.75, followed by South Africa at $5. India is at $6 followed by New Zealand at $6.50. Australian bookies Centre bet have similar odds with favorites at A$3.75 followed by South Africa at A$5. They rate New Zealand the next best at $6 with India at $7.

English bookmakers William Hill are in agreement. Their top four are: Australia 5/2, South Africa 4/1, India 9/2 and New Zealand 13/2.
