Right after releasing the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3, Samsung has released the selfie-focused smartphone, the Grand Max. Apparently, the Samsung Grand Max will be available for purchase in South Korea from Jan. 9 onwards. When it comes to pricing, the device will set the buyers back by KWR 319,000 that roughly translates to $290.
Apparently, the trademark-design of the Galaxy series of devices can be witnessed in the Grand Max as well. The rear panel of the handset has a faux-leather design pattern, seen in many Samsung devices. When it comes to key Samsung Galaxy Grand specifications, the handset features a pocket-friendly 5.25-inch IPS LCD display, bundled with 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. This display combination translates to a pixel density of 282 ppi. Speaking of size, the device is 7.9 mm thick and it weighs 161 g. The smartphone runs on a 64-bit, quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410) Cortex-A53 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz and backed by 1.5 GB RAM, reports GSM Arena.
On the software end, the Grand Max runs on Android v4.4.4 (KitKat) OS. Notably, this budget-friendly device supports LTE Cat 4 connectivity. As far as the memory configuration goes, there is 16 GB of internal storage capacity with microSD card support for further expansion up to 64 GB.
When it comes to camera, the Galaxy Max sports a solid 13 MP rear-facing unit with LED flash and there is also a 5 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. Samsung is reportedly marketing this handset as selfie-centric because of the housed 120 degree wide angle lens. Other key camera features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama support. In addition, this device also allows voice operation. Furthermore, there is a respectable 2,500 mAh battery unit to keep the wallet-friendly handset powered on.
