California - Amal and George Clooney reportedly think they’d make great parents
The newlywed couple, who tied the knot in a lavish Italian ceremony in September, sparked pregnancy rumours recently when 36-year-old Amal was spotted with what looked like a baby bump. Their representative denied the report, but those close to the pair say they see kids in their not too distant future.
“Amal has always wanted children and it’s no coincidence she quit smoking back in the summer. George says he didn’t want kids until he met Amal but she completely changed his mind. He’d do anything to make her happy and he’s realised they would make very loving parents. They would love their own children but have also discussed adoption,” a source told British magazine Grazia.
Prior to their nuptials, George was regarded as one of Hollywood’s leading bachelors. After a brief marriage to actress Talia Balsam that ended in 1993, George has enjoyed numerous high-profile relationships. However he never got too serious with any of them, until he met human rights lawyer Amal.
Barbara Walters recently crowned the British beauty the most fascinating person of 2014, and even the legendary broadcaster commented on 53-year-old George’s bachelor status.
“Everyone said that no one would get George Clooney to the altar. In fact, George Clooney - who had been married briefly in his 20s - said it himself, to me, in 1995,” Barbara said before showing archival footage. “[But] Amal is a little different, like Clooney, she is passionately committed to human rights causes. Like Clooney, who has a father who was a journalist, she has a mother who is a journalist. And like Clooney, she is a star in her own world.”
