Did Kate Upton, other Celebs fall for a Phishing scam?

TMZ reports the FBI is investigating if a phishing scam could have caused the massive leak of celebrity nude photos. The site claims celebs may have been deceived by a very convincing fake message that appeared to come from Apple requesting they send personal information.
TMZ claims investigators are trying to determine if Upton-- along with other stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Lea Michele-- could have been the targets of a phishing scam that eventually gave hackers access to their phones, causing nude snapshots of the actresses to leak.
Though initial reports pinned the blame on a security issue with Apple’s iCloud and Find My iPhone features, Apple has since said their systems were not breached.

“After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet,” Apple said, in a statement released on Tuesday. “None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved.” (FoxNews)
