As per a reports, the 53-year-old filmmaker is
expected to woo cinema lovers once again with his next historical movie 'Padmavati'.
Sanjay Leela Bhansal and Shah Rukh Khan took the silver
screen by storm in the year 2002 and owned all the award functions for
breakthrough performances for 'Devdas'. According to reports to be believed, they
both are set to join again for new project with hot favorite Bollywood actress
Deepika Padukone. After the successful and many awards winning film 'Bajirao
Mastani', it seems Deepika Padukone will team up yet again with Sanjay Leela
Bhansali opposite with SKR.
“While Padmavati is being pitched as an anti-hero film, it
is all about Padmavati, a heroine-centric film. It won’t interest SRK. SLB met
Khan on Sunday and the two are in talks for a role. But it’s most likely for
another film,” the report quoted a trade analyst as saying.
The period drama is based on Rani Padmavati of Chittor, who
performed 'jauhar' (self-immolation of queens and female royals of Rajput
kingdoms when faced with defeat at the hands of an enemy) when the ruthless
Alauddin Khilji attacked her kingdom because he wanted to keep her in his
harem.
