Spectre: Daniel Craig Calls James Bond a "Misogynist"

So no, he doesn't think the secret agent is a positive role model.

To most, James Bond is an icon of masculinity. However, the man who plays the secret agent wouldn't dare call him a positive role model. In a recent interview, Daniel Craig corrects a reporter from The Red Bulletin who says that many men admire how James Bond gets, well, Bond girls.

What is Misogynist: ''Misogyny is the hatred or dislike of women or girls. Misogyny can be
manifested in numerous ways, including sexual discrimination, belittling of women, violence against women, and sexual objectification of women. Misogyny can be found occasionally within ancient texts relating to various mythologies. In addition, various influential Western philosophers have been described as misogynistic.'' (Wikipedia)

"But let's not forget that he's actually a misogynist," Daniel says. "A lot of women are drawn to him chiefly because he embodies a certain type of danger and never sticks around for too long."

When the reporter points out that James has become more chivalrous in recent films, Daniel refuses to take credit: "That's because we've surrounded himself with very strong women who have no problem putting him in his place."
Then, when the reporter tries again to portray James in a positive light, saying that he is now being charmed by an older woman (how progressive!), Daniel says, "I think you mean the charms of a woman his own age. We're talking about Monica Bellucci, for heaven's sake."
This isn't the first time that Daniel has challenged what others think of Bond. This isn't even the first time that he called the secret agent a misogynist. Yet as this most recent interview shows, the rest of the world is still championing this old Hollywood superhero, while Daniel cannot stress enough how tired the role seems.
